Description

Experience authentic Italian cooking at our newly opened cooking school in the heart of Rome. This hands-on class offers the perfect setting to master Italy's culinary staple—pasta - with a gelato or sorbet tasting, while enjoying a modern and welcoming atmosphere. Our chef will guide you step by step to ensure you leave with new skills and unforgettable memories.

Create your own fresh pasta

Your culinary journey begins with learning the art of pasta-making from scratch. Under the guidance of our professional chefs, you’ll craft traditional egg pasta dough to create two different types of pasta. The chefs will also share their expert tips and tricks, so you can easily recreate these delicious dishes at home. As you knead, roll, and shape your pasta, the experience will transport you to the heart of Italian cuisine.

Prepare typical Italian seasonal sauces

While your pasta dough rests, you’ll dive into the world of fresh, seasonal sauces that pair perfectly with your pasta creations. Our chefs will demonstrate how to make two delicious sauces using ingredients that are quintessential to Italian cooking. Expect to explore authentic flavors and cooking techniques that will elevate your home-cooked pasta dishes.

Enjoy a live gelato tasting

End your experience on a truly indulgent note with a gelato tasting, enjoyed only after you’ve savored every bite of the pasta you created earlier. Settle into a warm, convivial atmosphere, sharing laughter and conversation with your fellow guests as you fully enjoy the moment together.

To make the experience even more memorable, you’ll be awarded a Graduation Certificate as a pasta maker, along with a digital recipe booklet. Take these home with you and relive the magic of your time in Italy by recreating the dishes—and the memories—all over again.

What is the difference between the pasta class and the pizza class in Rome?

The pasta and gelato class focuses on fresh handmade pasta, you make three different shapes from scratch, each paired with a seasonal Italian sauce, finishing with a gelato or sorbet tasting. The pizza and gelato class centers on learning Roman-style pizza dough and baking, with a gelato demonstration. Both are 3-hour classes held at the same school at Via Quattro Novembre 139, Rome, and both include unlimited wine and a seated meal.

Is a pasta-making class in Rome worth it as a tourist activity?

Yes, and Rome is a particularly good place for it. Roman pasta tradition (cacio e pepe, amatriciana, carbonara) relies heavily on technique rather than complex ingredients, which means a good class teaches you transferable skills you will actually use. You make fresh pasta from scratch, cook it with a professional chef's guidance, eat what you made with wine, and leave with a recipe booklet. It is one of the most practical and memorable food experiences available in Rome.

Is a pasta class in Rome a good activity for couples or solo travelers?

Yes, the class works equally well for both. Couples enjoy the collaborative, hands-on format and the intimate shared meal at the end. Solo travelers find the small-group setting naturally social, cooking and eating together breaks the ice quickly, and many participants meet other travelers they stay in touch with. The class attracts a good mix of nationalities and is reliably welcoming for anyone arriving alone.

What should you look for when choosing a pasta-making class in Rome?

Prioritize classes that teach at least two or three different pasta shapes (not just one), where each shape is paired with a different sauce, and where the instructor is a professional chef. Check also: group size, whether a full seated meal with wine is included, and that a recipe booklet is provided. In Rome, a school in or near the historic center keeps transfers short and lets you combine the class easily with sightseeing.

Can you visit the Colosseum in the morning and do a pasta class in Rome in the afternoon?

Yes, this is one of the most popular Rome day combinations. The Colosseum and Roman Forum are best visited in the morning before the midday heat and crowds build. Our cooking school at Via Quattro Novembre 139 is approximately 20 minutes on foot from the Colosseum (or a short taxi or bus ride), making an afternoon pasta class a natural and comfortable follow-up to a morning at the ancient sites.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

Cancellations are free up to 24 hours before the tour departure. For cancellations made within 24 hours of the tour start time, as well as in case of no-shows, the full amount will be charged.
